Cookies: Our site uses a cookie to identify
you as a valid user when you are logged in. The cookie is simply to identify
you so the program can retrieve the correct information from the database
and make the site work for you. We do not track or otherwise log your activities
using cookies and the cookie set when you login is destroyed when you log out.
top
Registration: To register as a new
member, click on the register link and complete the form. The graphic verification assures
that only live people register on our site and not computer programs. We ask
for your email address so you can retrieve your password if it is forgotten.
We do not share your email address with anyone. You can update your information
after you register from the My Account link in your menu.
top
Profile Creation: Upon successful
registration, you will see a login box so you can log in and create your profile.
If you choose not to create your profile right away, the My Profile link will
start the Profile creation tool for you later (without a Profile, some site
features will not be available to you). Choose your URL carefully as
it cannot be changed! Once you create a profile, the My Profile link will
take you to your Profile. The Profile Editor will guide you as you complete
the simple process. When you are finished, you will have your very own URL on our site
that you can share with friends and include in your emails, etc!
top
Profile Editor: Once your Profile
is created you can go to your Profile Page via the My Profile link. As long
as you are logged in, you will see a link at the top to edit your profile. Click
on the link to open the Profile Editor. Your current settings will be displayed
and you can change whatever you like. Your profile URL, however cannot be changed.
top
Login Trouble: If you have lost your password
or login name, click on the Lost Password link and the system will email you
your login information. It may take a few moments. Be sure your email doesn't
block messages from us. Your login and password are case-sensitive. When you
change your password, you have to log out & sign in again. If you are
entering the correct information but the program will not log you in, click
this link and try again.

Friends You can make friends with other Members
by clicking on the
icon on their Profile Page or next to their name in search results. When you
click the icon, the Member will receive a message in their in-box inviting them
to be your friend on the site! If they accept, they will show on your Profile
under My Friends and you on theirs. When you receive a friends invitation,
click on My Friends in the main menu to accept or decline. The My Friends page
also lists all of your current friends with the option to remove the friendship
relationship. When a friend invitation is accepted, you will know when they
appear on your Profile page. If an invitation is declined, no notice is sent.
Give it some time though as some Members don't login every day!

Pictures: When you first create your profile,
a default picture will appear. You may upload pictures as long as you are logged in
by clicking the link below it. Each member may upload up to 3 pictures
in gif or jpg format to compliment their profile. The best size is around 400x400
pixels. Use the upload tool to upload your pictures. If you already have 3 pictures, the tool will ask you to delete a
picture and then
proceed with the upload. Your file should be less than 400KB in size. When your
photo is uploaded, you will see it displayed full size with a link below to return
to your profile. The picture will be a uniform size on your page, but when a
visitor clicks it, the photo will open in a pop-up full size!
When you are logged in and you click on My Pictures below your picture, you
will see a Delete button and a Default button. Your default picture is the one
that appears on your main Profile Page and has a blue border. You can change
the default picture by clicking on the Default button below a different picture.
You can delete a picture by clicking the Delete button under the picture. Be
sure to check out our Acceptable Use Policy regarding
pictures.
